Field Archery at Its Best

Rochester Bow Hunters is a non-profit Archery Club

Rochester Bow Hunters (RBH) started in 1952 by local sportsman to provide an area to practice and enjoy the sport of archery. Their first property was a leased piece of land on the Barge Canal. A field course was laid out and in 1953 club officers where elected. Through the early years the club evolved and joined other archery clubs to form the Five Nations. In 1960 RBH became a non-profit corporation allowing the club to purchase, in 1967, the present home of RBH. The club held many shoots and continues to hold Field shoots on a regular schedule. The course is laid out in a wooded area of the property, we have 14 targets set out from 80 yds down to 20 ft. With the break up of the Five Nations RBH has joined the Western NY Field Archers and Bowhunters. This gives members of RBH more shooting opportunities and better competition against Archers of the Buffalo and Niagara Falls areas. Our membership fees are modest. Join us for the fun and come improve your skills as well.

Rochester Bow Hunters (RBH) is a non-profit archery club and while RBH has been around since 1952 we were not incorporated until 1960. This was done so RBH club could purchase the property we now own. The land was purchased in 1967 and is 20+ acres. The field course is set in the wooded area of the property, there are presently 14 targets set with an additional 14 paths laid out for future expansion. Future plans and hopes are for more tournaments to be held at our site.
RBH has a full schedule for the winter of 2009-2010
The outdoor season has ended but the indoor archery season is just getting started. The Western New York Field Archers and Bowhunters (WNYFAB) schedule is posted on the schedule sheet. The indoor archery season starts at the end of the Deer season on December 7th and runs till March. Creekwood Archery will be hosting shoots in January and February, our fellow archers at Batavia will host two shoots at Creekwood Archery. During the winter Creekwood will also host, along with Doc's Archery in North Tonawanda, the NFAA Mid Atlantic Indoor Sectional. On February 7th Creekwood will host a 420 Open Tournament, something new and more challenging and a different target to shoot. The prices and times and addresses for the different shops and Clubs are on the schedule page. All tournaments and special shoots can also be viewed on the NYFAB web site. At the end of the season WNYFAB has a banquet for the archers and trophies are awarded to class winners. The NFAA Blue Face target is the target of choice for WNYFAB shoots. During the winter months many RBH members continue to shoot on Monday nights at Creekwood Archery. We call it the Geezer League but all are welcome to shoot, young and old and continue to enjoy the company of fellow RBH members.
